The Difference Between Efficiency and Effectiveness

Being efficient is defined as (Performing or functioning in the best possible manner with the least waste of time and effort.) When you’re efficient you are doing things right the way you’re supposed to do things.

You then have being effective which is defined as (Adequate to accomplish a purpose; producing the intended or expected result.) When you’re effective you’re doing things right things, but it does not mean you’re doing it the right way.

To sum these two terms up, being efficient is the act of doing things right while being effective is about doing the right things. An example of this is putting in so many hours each day of working on a project. You can put in 14 hour work weeks and be effective, or you can put in 14 hours a week and be efficient, do you see the difference?

The best way I found to become efficient when working is to have a certain goal you want to reach. When you’re efficient you understand what you’re trying to accomplish.

When creating a goal you should have your daily goals, your weekly goals, and lastly your monthly goals. You should then also create your long-term goals and your short-term goals.

Your long-term being a goal that will take time to accomplish but is not impossible with efficient work. Then your short-term goals being easy to accomplish but require effective work with producing the intended or expected result.

When you create a goal you may run into some problems after all nothing comes easy in our world but with dedication and efficient work, anything is possible. So when you run into problems you may need to extend or recreate your goal. Without any goals, you’re likely to procrastinate and put things aside. A quote from Mark Twain states:
