Different rooms

I woke up in a new place today. I tried to collect my memory but couldn’t remember where I was. I got up and left the room, I was now in a hallway. The car lights flashing through the adjacent window, as I walk carefully. I didn’t feel scared or maybe I should have been.

I saw a door on the left and opened it.

I was in his arms, slow dancing away our problems. A conversation so quiet only we could hear it. We were happy, stressed but prepared to take on the world.

My nose started to bleed, I closed the door and walked ahead.

Went down the stairs, and saw another door. I opened it.

I had failed again, I was sitting in a pool of blood. The color was so dark it hardly looked or felt like blood. He picked me up and we cried together over our loss.

We’ll try again

I closed the door, the sight of blood made me want to puke.

As I walked ahead in darkness I could see another door and opened it. It was like they were beckoning me. It was the dining room.

I was laughing like a witch, while my best friend teased me. People were congratulating me for a promotion. It all felt like a distant dream.

I saw my parents bring in my favorite food for us and sit down with us. He then came in with some packages and fresh flowers. We were happy even if it felt like a moment.

This wasn’t making sense to me. These things that I was seeing had never happened. Where was I?

Was I dead? Have I forgotten things?

I tried to exit the house but the main door was locked from the outside.

I opened the door to the living room.

He cradles the child in his arms. She coos quietly. I’m going through a photo album. So many images of my friends, my family, him and now her.

It felt like deja vu but I knew this wasn’t real. There was no way it was.

He laid her in her cradle and got into bed. He had the most confident look in his face.

Let’s make another one

I heard the main door open and rushed towards it. No one was there, all I could see that the door opened to complete darkness. I stepped out. It was cold and felt that it was snowing. I felt a hand on my shoulder and woke up.

You’re at the hospital, you were in an accident.

But I saw things

My voiced faded into the background noise.

I hope she’s doing well, in which ever universe she is.
