1. US virus Trump under fire
Donald Trump has angrily defended his handling of coronavirus outbreak in the United States. It’s killed 22,000 Americans. President says he acted at the earliest opportunity. US infection figures have begun to stabilize and programs have been set out for reopening after the shutdown.
2. France lockdown
President Macron has announced that France as coronavirus lockdown will remain in place until May the 11th. At the televised address, he said the current measures will slow but not beat the virus. The lockdown has confined the French to their homes since mid-March.
3. UK lockdown
The number of virus deaths recorded in British hospitals has passed 11,000. It increased more than 700 in a 24 hour period. The government doesn’t yet expect to relax the lockdown. The UK has not passed the peak of the outbreak it says.
