Select Clause References to Group Aggregate Function Results

Dear MySQL development team, please add support for SELECT clause references to group aggregate function results. This would greatly improve SQL statement readability.

Here is an example of what I’d like to be able to do:

In MySQL 5.7, running the above statement returns the following error message:

Of course, I can work around this by using a sub-query. Or, I can simply write my SUM expression twice, like this:

While the above code works, it gets really messy when your group aggregate function is complicated.

So, while I am eternally grateful for the years of hard work that has been put into MySQL (a tool I use every single day), I am putting my request out into the world.
