Why should Americans choose The New York Times as their number one source?

People have been navigating towards social media and other biased news outlets for information on global events. This must come to an end in order to save real journalism.

This photo was taken outside of the New York Times headquarters in New York City.

With social media disrupting professional journalism, U.S citizens can count on The New York times as a source for receiving factual information on events. The special thing about the New York Times is its unbiased publication of important world events. Unlike other news outlets who recycle information, they report information from scratch and is known for receiving the information first.

Although The New York Times is a newspaper, it has adapted to our new digital world by offering online subscriptions with unlimited access to exclusive, old and present news, $12 for 6 weeks or $50 for a year. People have the option to view information for free through social media platforms on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and on business networks such as LinkedIn. Each post on those platforms includes a link that will guide its audience to The New York Times official website to discover even more important events occurring throughout the United States and globally.

On their website, it's organized from World, the U.S., Politics, N.Y., Business, Opinion, Tech, Science, Health, Sports, Arts, Books, Style, Food, Travel, Magazine, T Magazine, Real Estate, and video (from left to right). This proves why Americans should choose to read The New York Times; they not only cover a range of topics on events but they prioritize global crisis the most because it is the first category on their website. Right now the world is going through a major crisis due to the spreading of COVID-19 and it is the first headline on the website. The headline informs U.S. citizens on how severe the coronavirus has impacted the citizens of Italy with its increasing overwhelming number of deaths per day. The U.S is facing its own problems with the number of infected people but The New Times has turned its attention to keep its audience in the loop that everybody is suffering during this global pandemic.

Now, should be much easier to decide who your number one source should be for reading reports on global events. Reading biased views on information takes away from your personal opinion because it influences you to side with the authors' opinion. Journalism is about reporting the facts. Join The New York Times in keeping professional journalism alive.
