Will Sen. Raphael Warnock Debate Herschel Walker?

I have my fingers crossed that they do debate, it would be epic

I love political debates. I know that people claim that they are just a rehash of the candidates’ positions on the issues, but I live for those special moments that you don’t get on the campaign trail or during stump speeches.

Moments like Trump shouting at Biden and constantly interrupting him. Or how about the fly on Pence’s hair?

I expected “mother” to run out on stage at any moment to get rid of it. It must have driven her crazy to be trapped in her seat, helplessly watching her husband be humiliated on a national stage by an insect.

I’m looking for more special moments in the upcoming debates in Georgia between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) and his opponent and Trump endorsee, Herschel Walker (R).

Just to refresh your memory, Warnock defeated incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R) in a special election in 2021 handing control of the Senate to the Democrats. Loeffler had been appointed to finish the term of former Sen. Johnny Isakson (R) who had resigned.

Got all that? It’s a little confusing.

In addition to being a senator, Warnock is also the pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta where Rev. Martin Luther King preached.

So he’s quite articulate. Stay with me. That will become important in a moment.

Walker, on the other hand, is a former football player and Heisman Trophy winner. He was endorsed by Trump because he is a personal friend.

Walker is also very popular in Georgia, easily defeating his opponents in the primary.

Walker skipped the debates in the primary. With good reason, I think. He speaks like Trump does. Incoherently and cluelessly.

Probably because he was hit on the head a few too many times when he played football. I’m not sure what Trump’s excuse is.
